Wealth Watchers Inc. is a HUD-certified Housing Counseling and Community Development organization formed as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) in December of 2001. Its mission is to build viable communities by expanding the knowledge of low-to-moderate income individuals for the purpose of understanding the importance of basic finance and accumulation of wealth. This mission is achieved by providing lending and education, neighborhood stabilization, community revitalization strategies and small business services.

Homebuyer Education: 8-Hour Workshop
April 20 | 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
$50 – Fee. This comprehensive course teaches the ins and outs of homeownership. Receive a certificate of completion to become eligible for down payment assistance.
Homebuying Orientation
April 16 | 6:30 p.m.
Free Event. This course introduces you to the first steps to homeownership. Learn how to buy your first home and the benefits of owning vs. renting.

June is National Homeownership Month. It is a time to celebrate the importance of owning a home and the impact it has on the lives of American families, local communities and the nation’s economic health. Many consider owning a home to be the American dream. It is usually a person’s biggest financial investment. The positive impacts of homeownership can be seen in families, the community and the country as a whole.
National Homeownership Month showcases homeownership as a source of economic strength and the commitment to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to become homeowners, especially BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) populations. The national spotlight on homeownership began as a weeklong recognition in 1995 as a strategy of former President Bill Clinton’s administration. It was first proclaimed to last an entire month in June 2002 under former President George W. Bush.
